Why we clean and grease every brake job

A brake caliper slides on pins, and the pads sit in brackets. Over the years rust and old grease build up in both. When a pin sticks or a pad binds in its bracket, that pad drags, wears out early and heats the rotor.

New pads in dirty, dry hardware is how a brake job ends up worn on one side a few months later. So on every brake job we clean the parts and grease the components that need it before the new pads go in.

Brake fluid also soaks up moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point. Bleeding the brakes pushes the old fluid and any air out of the lines and gives you a firm pedal again.
